Good to know
Other countries are in “Living abroad”.
Eligibility often depends on the family’s status in the Netherlands — temporary protection, place of residence or the child’s school — so check it on the organiser’s page. The language of classes varies: the local language, Ukrainian, or both.
School in the country
Children from Ukraine have the right to education in the Netherlands. Parents register their child at the school of their choice; the municipality helps if the family lives in a reception centre. Education may start in a class for newcomers, which always includes Dutch lessons.
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from “Going abroad”?
“Going abroad” is for children travelling from Ukraine: camps, contests, olympiads, volunteering and scholarships that involve a trip (a term or a year at school is on “Exchange programmes”). This collection is for those who already live in another country: classes and camps that local organisers open to Ukrainian children, Ukrainian Saturday schools, help with language and school.
How do we sign up?
Every card leads to the opportunity’s page on Dityam.com.ua and from there to the organiser’s site, where registration, conditions and the language of classes are given. Dityam.com.ua takes no commission and collects no applications.
