Curriculum
The school follows its own program developed by teachers and methodologists. Main subjects:
- Ukrainian Studies — an integrated course covering history, culture, geography, arts, and nature of Ukraine
- Book Immersion — contemporary and classical Ukrainian literature and quality translations
- Ukrainian Language — a mix of teaching methods (as heritage, foreign, and native language); materials from the New Ukrainian School (NUS) and teachers' own resources are used
Schedule
Classes every Sunday from 10:00 to 13:00. Each lesson is taught by a teacher and an assistant. Two breaks: short break (10:50–11:00), long break (11:50–12:10). During the long break, children go outside with teachers and volunteer parents for a walk in the school yard or nearby park.
Age Groups
2–4 years, 5–6 years, 7–8 years, 9–12 years, 13–16 years.
Language Policy
Ukrainian is the working language of the school. The school encourages Ukrainian communication both during lessons and outside school. Teachers recommend regular meetings of students during the week: playdates, city excursions, competitions, trips, shared reading from the school library.
Additional Activities
The school organizes workshops and creative projects, guest visits. Traditions include closing the school year with a picnic in the park, celebrations, games and fairs.
Food
Parents bring food (fruits, vegetables, sandwiches) and water for their children. Lunch is eaten in the classroom with teachers.
