UNICEF provides emergency cash assistance to families with children who have been directly affected by attacks involving explosive weapons, if at least one household member was injured or killed.

Assistance is provided as part of child protection case management services and can be combined with other support, including psychological and psychosocial assistance.

How families are identified. Such families are typically identified through child protection specialists or social workers who manage their case and are supported by UNICEF, along with partner organizations. If a family potentially meets the criteria, the relevant specialist will contact them to assess their needs and eligibility for assistance.
