Program

The school offers weekly classes every Saturday from 10:00 to 15:00 in the following areas:

  • Ukrainian Language and Reading (ages 5–12, 35–40 min): developing speech, reading and grammar; texts, interactive activities, games and discussions about Ukrainian traditions, holidays and history.
  • Art Therapy (ages 4–7, 10:00–11:00): working with self-esteem, feelings and communication through colour, shape and sensory exercises; a safe space for the youngest children.
  • Vocal Training (ages 6–12): voice technique, diction, stage confidence, contemporary and traditional songs, improvisation; mini-concert at the end of term.
  • Animation (ages 7–13): basics of animation, scriptwriting, drawing, voicing; Ukrainian folk motifs in their own stories.
  • Creative Arts (ages 5–12): a course for children who love to draw, create with their hands, use their imagination and explore the world of art.

Concept

Based on the 10 key NUS competencies: effective communication in the native language, reading comprehension, initiative and entrepreneurship, cultural awareness, emotional intelligence, lifelong learning, ability to express oneself through art.

Location and Time

Address: School Street Flats, 26 School St, The Liberties, Dublin 8, Ireland. Classes every Saturday from 10:00 to 15:00. Registration is required.

For Whom

For children of Ukrainian refugees in Ireland. The school supports displaced families, helps children adapt to a new environment while maintaining their connection to their homeland, and preserves the language, culture and national identity.
